We played the green side on Saturday and was disappointed. While the course was in overall good shape and the price was very reasonable for Saturday golf, the pace of play and noise level was insane. The one time we actually saw a Marshall was on the 15th green. When he asked how things were going we said it was very slow (often waiting 10 minutes to tee off), he just goes "slow huh?" And just kept driving.
Outside of that the noise level was stupid. Outside of multiple trains coming through, not so bad, but it's right by PIR (Portland International Speedway). The sound is heard from everywhere on the course and very noisy and loud. I don't know if they can change it but they should let people know. I'm going to putt and hear cars roaring isn't great
wonderful course with greens surrounded with mounds and traps fairways framed by the same requires accurate game to avoid tricky lies and trouble but not overly penal
Had a 1:35 tee time for the blue course on a beautiful sunny spring day for $23, got there at about 12:30 to hit a $5 bucket with a $5 modelo, played an awesome round with beautiful surroundings, well kept grass and greens, and great vibes all around. The only downfall of the day was things were a bet wet and there was some mud, but that is to be expected in the pacific north west. Can't wait for my next round here!
Course is well maintained but the people that play here ruined the experience. Pace of play was horrible and I kept being hit at with balls.
The course here is great—absolutely beautiful course and fairly well maintained. As you'll find in a lot of reviews, the issue is with the staff here. I've only been here twice but have been told to "pick up the pace" each time by the marshal (Tony each time). Yet the score card said we were ahead of schedule by 3 and 7 minutes each time. We even pointed this out to him, and noted that there was no one behind us or in front of us for at least a hole. He said "don't worry about who's behind you, focus on who's ahead of you." What? You want us to focus on rushing other people? Love this place, but I won't be playing here again until some of these old boys hit the retirement home.
Playing the course was a good time, and they were little to no complaints about the course itself. Conditions were great except one spot where they had water issues but they were actively fixing it. Was playing with a foursome, and we’re playing at a decent rate. At the turn, the Marshall came up to us and was about to drive by when he stopped and looked at his clipboard and told us that we needed to speed up play. We were maybe 1 to 2 minutes behind pace of play, and this made our group pretty upset. For the next three holes we played, rushed and had the Marshall watching and following us. The upsetting part was that there was no one in front of behind us.
Went out with some friends for my birthday and we had 2 groups on back to back tee times. My cart died on the first hole so we drove the other cart back to ask for a replacement and the starter was very rude. Didn’t give me a good explanation on how they would be bringing the cart and where we should wait for it. Eventually ended up getting one. On the 10th hole there was no one behind us for 2 holes so we decided to all tee off together as 7 people (I know this isn’t right but we were planning on splitting up after that hole. However we finished and we’re STILL waiting for the group in front of us. We kept going as 7 for the next 6 holes keeping pace and still waiting on the group in front of us. The Marshall came around on 17 looking for someone who had lost a wallet. At that point he noticed we had too many people and demanded that we split up. It was hole 17. The fact remains that we did not see him the entire round until someone had lost something so he didnt care about the pace of play at all, if he did we wouldn’t come close to keeping up with the groups in front with that many guys. We said it would slow down the groups behind us (who we drove back to earlier and told them we were still waiting for the other groups ahead and they were more than okay with us playing like that) however he said “I don’t care if it slows down you can’t have more than 4 people” which yes we can’t but is it really that big of an issue when the problem group is 2 groups ahead of us? Maybe if the Marshall was doing his job we wouldn’t have had to play as 7 to avoid waiting for 5-10 minutes to tee off every hole. Overall good course but it was bogged down by the awful starter and Marshall as well as overbooking the course to slow down pace of play.
The course is in good condition. Water on many of the holes and bunkers everywhere. Pace of play good. Clubhouse is a little run down. Food is available inside and it’s good. Would recommend the course.
